Fuzzy Philosophy: Choosing Good Friends

Dear Cleo,

I’ve recently moved to a new city and am having trouble making new friends. How do I choose good friends? What should I look for in a friend?

Sincerely,

New in Town

Dear New in Town,

Ah, the ancient art of friend-choosing! It’s a bit like picking bamboo, really. You want the stalks that are green and crunchy, not the ones that are brown and soggy. But since I’m often misinterpreting things, I’ll share my very fuzzy logic on this matter.

First, friends should always be willing to share their snacks. If someone offers you a bite of their eucalyptus leaves, that’s a good sign! Wait, pandas don’t eat eucalyptus. That’s koalas. If someone offers you a bite of their bamboo, that’s a good sign! Unless they’re also a panda, then it might be competition. Oh dear, let’s move on.

Second, look for friends who have similar hobbies. If you enjoy rolling down hills, find someone who doesn’t mind getting a bit dizzy. If you love lounging around all day, find someone who won’t judge you for your extensive napping habits. Naps are the foundation of true friendship!

Third, friends should be trustworthy and supportive. Like a tree that holds up your hammock while you snooze. Be wary of anyone who looks like they might eat your bamboo while you’re not looking. Again with the bamboo – it’s just so delicious!

Finally, remember that good friends accept you for who you are, even if you get confused and accidentally show up to their birthday party in a koala costume. True friends will laugh with you, not at you, and maybe even offer you some eucalyptus – I mean, bamboo – as a peace offering.

So, to sum it all up: share snacks, enjoy mutual hobbies, trust each other, and always wear the right animal costume to parties. With these tips, you’ll find your perfect friends in no time!

Fuzzily yours,

Cleo
